Society of Petroleum Engineers

In 2024, I joined the Society of Petroleum Engineers as a Front End Web Developer, contributing to a large scale website that receives millions of page views each month. My role involved designing layouts in Figma and building responsive front end pages using Bootstrap, jQuery, HTML5, SCSS, and JavaScript. These pages were integrated with Django CMS and Python based backend systems, allowing for dynamic content delivery and plugin functionality.

One of my key contributions was designing and building a new site-wide header featuring a mega menu and drop down links. This redesign significantly improved navigation and increased user engagement across the site.

I also managed hundreds of tags through Google Tag Manager and configured Google Analytics 4 to track custom metrics across the site. To improve visibility and search performance, I used Google Search Console to enhance SEO results. Additionally, I implemented GDPR compliance and Google Consent Mode v2 to manage cookie consent across the platform.

This project gave me valuable experience working with large scale traffic, analytics, and compliance, which are all essential for modern web development.
